In theory, If you have the Crank Pulley Boss removed and the Timing Belt off, then you should be able to remove the woodruff key just by grabbing it and pulling it out. If you're getting the 'blue slider' thing I think you're referring to then the game probably thinks you're trying to rotate the crank instead.
