Engineers and technicians from the Florida State University-headquartered National High Magnetic Field Laboratory were recognized with a 2024 R&D 100 Award for the design and construction of the 32 tesla (T) Superconducting Magnet. The magnet will produce a magnetic field between 25 tesla and 30 tesla—more than half a million times stronger than the Earth's magnetic field.
